ZIPCAR

There's no place like home, there's no place like home. Little Baby and I are here in Florida for two weeks and we are ecstatic. Life is easy here: a yard (with a swing!)...a washer... a dryer...a car. For the last five years, I have been an urban dweller, living carless in a car-centric world. I'm so used to my zipcar that it rarely occurs to me that there are people out there (we will call them my friends) who are not only completely perplexed by the idea of "car sharing" but who cannot fathom the concept of not owning a vehicle. Its probably especially hard to grasp here in Florida where people spend more money on their cars, than their house. So for all you suburbanites - here's how I zip around.

More Blogging...

So apparently the things that bloggers write about really are true. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the blogosphere. Texan bloggers know each other and even get together for meals. Anyone can have a cute blog. And if Sugar Mommy (four children!) and Weasel Mama (five children!) have time for blogging, I have time for blogging.

Thanks to everyone for your comments - have a wonderful Easter!

Blogging

I apologize in advance for what I am about to do - another blog about blogging. I can't stop blogging about blogging! I guess because I can't get over how many bloggers there are out there and how very creative you all are and how superior your sites are to mine. I have so much catching up to do. I don't know what to make of it all. Nor does my husband. I don't think he cares for my new found obsession. Thanks McMommy! Husband thanks you too :) I'm not even sure yet if I care for it. And I have A LOT of questions / observations. 1. Do the things you write about actually happen to you? Like this one? 2. There is some serious blogging going on in Texas. Do you guys all know each other? 3. The best looking blogs have this in common: http://www.onceuponablog.org/ 4. How do you find the time for it?

Still under construction...

Yesterday's blog didn't count because it was about me justifying my blogsistance. So here is my first real blog and its a topic that all new moms love to discuss, breastfeeding.

A friend recently sent me an article published in The Atlantic, " The Case Against Breastfeeding." Now if the title alone wasn't already music to my ears, the article goes on to suggest how the health benefits of breastfeeding are greatly overstated and basically begs the question, is it really worth the grief? I have been nursing Little Baby for about four months now and to be perfectly honest, I have hated almost every minute of it . I get through each day by telling myself how I will quit tomorrow. And naturally, after about halfway through the author's case against it, I decide that it is perfectly OK for me to throw in the towel (or break out the bottle) and not feel guilty about it. Then, I read this, "CDC finds rocket fuel chemical in U.S. Baby formula." And although I do sometimes feel like blasting her off to space when she wakes up hungry at 2, 4, and 7 am, I think I'd rather just quit tomorrow.

My very first blog! Please be patient.

Alright people, please be patient with me as I have no idea what I'm doing.
My friend McMommy
blogs and as I explained to her, I feel like I need to stay up on technology or I will become my mom (that's mom and pops up there, amazed by digital photography). So first facebook, then twitter, and now my very first blog. Facebook, I understand. "It helps you connect and share with the people in your life." Twittering and blogging, as far as I can tell, connects me with total randos. Randos, don't take this personally, because you are also another reason for my desire to blog. You see, I have entered the world of stay at home motherhood. And in this world, you don't get out much. So, we shall see where this takes me...
